When are the classes?

Class is held on Sundays as part of 6 to 10 week courses throughout the year. Click here to view the schedule.

Do I need to register in advance?

Yes. Registration opens a couple of weeks before each course. 

Do you do drop ins?

No, we run on a course basis to maintain a community feeling, ensure continuity and allow the group to progress together.

What style of Belly Dance do you teach?

We teach Salimpour Belly Dance, as created by Suhaila Salimpour. The format is a mind-body approach to creating belly dance movement internally and organically. Using Suhaila’s movement and timing approaches, you define, integrate, and layer movements to create your dance with intention, nuance, and personalization.

What shall I wear?

Gym/ yoga clothes that you can move and exercise comfortably in, and that allow your movements to be seen. Leggings or yoga pants are perfect. We usually dance barefoot but you can wear soft dance shoes or paws if you prefer. Bring a hip scarf if you like to wear after the warm up.

What shall I bring?

A water bottle and a yoga mat for the warm up. There are a limited number of mats available to borrow at the studio.

What ages can take part?

At least 18+. Adults of all ages.

How do I find the studio?

The studio is a quick walk from Lewisham station (British Rail and DLR).

The entrance is on Lewisham High Street. It is a single door by the clock tower, next door to The British Heart Foundation. You go up the stairs and follow the signs for Zhulin Hidden Village on the second floor. Click here for google maps.
